Carter James
Rhodes
December 18, 2004 -
May 22, 2005
Carter's short but meaningful journey began on December 18, 2004. It was that day that our lives changed forever. For that day, we welcomed Carter into our family and our hearts.
If ever there were a perfect child, Carter was the definition. He spent his days playing and laughing. He especially enjoyed eating his hands and drooling. He had a contagious smile and heart warming laugh.
To say Carter was content would be an understatement. He had patience that I admire. His personality was heavenly. He truly was our most precious gift from God.
We cherished every moment with him and still can not believe that 5 months and 4 days is all that we were given. On May 22, 2005 Carter became a true angel of God. We ask "Why?" daily, hourly, every second of our lives but never have the answers.
Carter has accomplished so much for only gracing us in this world for 5 months. He has taught us to live, laugh, and most importantly, LOVE! Carter loved with all of his heart.
To our family and friends...please know how much we love you and need you. We ask that you keep Carter in your hearts forever and never forget the joy that he brought to all of our lives. Although he is not with us in presence any longer, we can keep him alive in our hearts.
With Love Garrett, Tricia & Anthony
Goodbye Sweet Angel
Goodbye my sweet angel boy, My heart has never wept so. I'll spend the rest of my life, Wondering why you had to go.
You were so dear and special to me, A product of mine and Daddy's love. I thanked God daily for sending you, My sweet angel boy from above.
Never did I imagine, God would call you home so soon. You were like a little flower, Needing more time here to bloom.
Daddy would have taught you so much, You were his little guy. He never loved anyone so dearly, You put the sparkle in his eye.
Anthony misses his "little bubby", You would have been the best of friends. Please know how much he misses you, Brothers until the end.
Please remember we love you forever, In our memories you will always be. We can't wait for the day we meet you in Heaven And continue our journey as a family.
Love Mommy
Poem for Dads
It must be very difficult To be a man in grief, Since "men dont cry" and "men are strong", No tears can bring relief. It must be very difficult To stand up to the test, And field calls and visitors So she can get some rest. They always ask if she's alright And what she's going through, But seldom take his hand and ask, "My friend, but how are you?" He hears her crying in the night And thinks his heart will break, He dries her tears and comforts her But "stays strong" for her sake. It must be very difficult To start each day anew, And try to be so very brave- He lost his baby too... -Author Unknown-
Keeper of the Children What becomes of the children who pass on? They awaken to an angel's song! Whatever pain or sorrow they may have felt, Gone are these in Heaven, away they melt! These children our Lord never forgets, They do not cease to be, They have angels to take care of them, and To help fulfill their needs. They continue to grow, to learn and to play, Gathering God's wisdom and knowledge along their way. And, when your time finally arrives to be Heaven bound, Your child will come and escort you to God's holy ground, Where the two of you will be reunited to laugh, to sing and to play, Forever spending time with each other in God's eternal day!
